A new film that tells the fictional historical drama of a young woman's adventure to rescue her husband from a Civil War Union POW camp in Chicago in the fall of 1862.  Through Cath, a nurse and spy from the camp, Sarah Rose receives a message at home on her farm in rural Kentucky from her dying husband, Will.  With Cath's tenacity and brash personality, the generally shy and reserve Sarah sets off with her new companion on a journey across Kentucky and Illinois determined to rescue her newlywed husband from an inevitable death from camp sickness and his battle wounds received at the battle of Shiloh.  The difficulty of their journey is complicated by two Pinkerton agents, Agents Winslow and Peterson, hired by the camp commander to hunt down and capture Confederate spies.

      film: The Last Confederate
Filled with passion, blood and tragedy, The Last Confederate is a tumultuous true story of one man’s love for country and for Eveline McCord, his girl from the north. In an emotionally charged performance, Julian Adams is his great-great grandfather Robert Adams, a strong willed southern Captain in the midst of the American Civil War, who used his guns and his heart of fire to rally his men to fight for their lands. Robert was a planter, and soon to be southern captain, who fell in love with Eveline, an intelligent, kind and strong willed school teacher from the north.
Just as they met, The Civil War was upon them. All he knew was tied into the conflict and the one thing that he held to was his love for this northern woman. He knew that he might sacrifice all he had if he entered into this conflict. He believed in protecting the life he had, and the life he wanted, but he knew the price would be great. His quest for survival grew as the war worsened. He was captured and sent to prison; he lost his best friend; his town was burned and the war was all but lost. Robert’s connection to Eveline weakened and he lost the path he believed he was on. Her love for him would be the one thing that could carry him through. Produced, written and directed by the descendents of Robert and Eveline, this is an explosive, richly detailed saga of fierce combat, honor and the will to risk all that’s precious for love or country.  Official Website: www.strongbowpictures.com/thelastconfederate

  film: Pharaoh's Army
During the American Civil War, a Union Army captain leads his rag-tag cavalry troop up a misty creek to a remote farm to steal enemy (Confederate) livestock. The farm is worked by Sarah Anders, whose husband is away fighting for the Confederate Army. Far from the great armies and battlefields, a very private civil war erupts. The Captain and Sarah are pulled apart by the war's undertow into choices they can not fully control or understand. Each character in this drama must decide whether loyalty will be paid in blood. This story has a relevance to current partisan conflicts. Armies are not filled with murdering psychopaths. Good people can be driven to do bad things. The story chronicles the pathology of war, how escalating events can trigger unasked-for tragedy. Based on a true story about a southern child who shot and killed a union soldier during the Civil War. Written by {jstanley@stern.nyu.edu}

  film: The Atonement
The North Carolina Piedmont, 1864. On a lazy Springtime afternoon, two young Confederate soldiers, take off on a pair of horses for a short ride. Along the way they discover an isolated farmhouse and decide to help themselves to a pair of chickens. As they make their escape with the catch one is cut down by the blast of a shotgun. The farm's owner, a young widow who only recently buried her soldier husband, has killed a thief who was stealing the few possessions she had left. Immediately she feels devastated by what she has done. Now the surviving soldier must decide what to do with her, and whether to avenge the death of his friend. How will they find "atonement"?
